Activity Description
This asynchronous course provides optometrists with comprehensive education on etiology, diagnosis, and treatment options for the management of eyelid margin diseases, corneal nerve dysfunction, and other ocular inflammatory conditions. Attendees can expect clear, implementable guidance drawn from case presentations and interactive discussion.
Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Review the underlying causes and risk factors contributing to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), Demodex blepharitis, inflammation, and corneal nerves in ocular surface disease (OSD).
2. Identify diagnostic tools and techniques used to assess eyelid margin health, inflammation, and corneal nerve integrity.
3. Examine current and emerging treatment options for managing eyelid margin health, inflammation, and corneal nerve health.
3. Develop strategies for discussing diagnosis, treatment options, and setting realistic expectations with patients.
